Star Trek: Lighthouse - Season 2, Episode 4

The Dominion entered into trade negotiations with the small planet of Sirius Three. Now Sirius, (my tiny little movie set) really doesn't have much to offer the Dominion; the grand empire of the Dominion (a film union called IATSE) just wants to use Sirius as a jumping off point into the fringes of the Alpha Quadrant (basically control over all small budget films). The Dominion can offer extended health benefits, however, joining the Dominion is like joining Starfleet, except, in Starfleet you choose your assignment. In the Dominion, your assignment frequently needs you.

In order to protect the new planet Lighthouse has just begun to trade with, Ambassador T'Coura entered into negotiations with the smaller, but still greedy and paperwork causing, Ferengi Commerce Association (a smaller film union called ACFC).

Commander Barba has just returned from a brief vacation on Quo'nos and is rested and in good spirits. She is required to join the Ferengi Commerce Association, and the paperwork is making her amused/terribly frustrated. (the paperwork did ask her if she could use a typewriter...) She keeps jokingly threatening to leave the Lighthouse and return to the Klingon fleet. She did make the Ensign laugh until she cried.

Lt. Stache is returning home to her previous posting, and Lt. Adjoury is in the previews for next weeks episode.

the Ensign only had one run-in with the Commander that was ugly, and it was over the comm system. Unbeknownst to the Commander, Oparu had seen her pass by on the way to the bridge and knew Barba had overslept. This made the verbal beating the Ensign took over the comm system easier to bear because she knew it had nothing to do with her. Things after that actually improved after the Ensign got to the bridge and admitted how afraid she is of making a mistake, and how stressed out that makes her.

Sirius is doing well. A early festival was held in honor of the treaty nearly being completed. With Commander Barba on her homeworld and Lt. Adjoury away, Ensign Oparu was in charge of the libations and food for the party. When the Ambassador came and left, she put the Ensign in charge of making sure all the intoxicated crew made it back to their quarters in one piece. One crew member tripped on the alien planet (stilettos can be dangerous!) and ended up spending the night in sickbay with a broken foot. It will heal, just not terribly quickly and required surgery to set properly.

The Ambassador is in good spirits lately, even though Sirius has completely extended their budget and can barely continue to work towards the treaty, she's standing up to the Dominion and doing her best to protect the planet. Under their laws, Sirius Three has to vote on weather they want to join the Dominion or not and that vote is tomorrow.

This episode is a cliffhanger, with Dominion ships hanging in the sky and dwarfing the Lighthouse while the planet hangs in the balance below.
